Roles covering a variety of shift patterns (Monday – Thursday 10.30 – 4.30pm Saturdays & Sunday 11.30am – 4.15pm)
Starting salary: £10.90 per hour based on FTE £19,838 to £21,322 per annum
We have opportunities to join our experienced and dedicated Family Support Teams working within the visitors’ centre at HMP Chelmsford.
HMP Chelmsford part of the main HMP Estate offers a varied and exciting opportunity to work in a busy yet rewarding environment where no two days are the same. You will be required to obtain and retain enhanced security vetting for this role.
The Ormiston Families team based at HMP Chelmsford provide support, information and a personal welcome for first-time and returning visitors to help them access the services available to them.
We are excited to be growing and transforming our services for children, families and young people, and will be focused on improving our quality and availability of services and so it is a great time to consider joining us.
We are seeking Family Support Workers to assist the team in providing additional cover with the effective and efficient running of the Visitor Centre, Tea Bar, Play Area in the Prison Visits Hall, assist on Family Days to ensure prisoners and their families have a valuable visiting experience, improving the quality of visits for children and families and helping to maintain family relationships.
To be successful you will have experience of dealing with people in a customer service-based role and be able to demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving skills and embrace a non-judgemental work ethic.
