Job description
About us:
Hubs & Co are a small, dedicated team offering social work and psychology services to individuals and families in Derby and Derbyshire. We work with local authorities and with individuals who self-refer to make their lives better. Our ethos is that people are often doing the best they can but sometimes they need extra help. We work with ‘complex’ situations that may be long- standing to try different solutions, working collaboratively with individuals, their families, and the systems around them. Our team members all have a passion for advocacy, especially for those who find themselves disempowered by their past experiences. You can find out more about us at www.hubsandco.uk.
If you feel this is the right team for you to join please read the job description and person specification below and send us your CV.
About this opportunity:
As a key member of our team your role is to work with adults, children and families who are experiencing social, emotional or behavioural difficulties. You will provide high quality support and expertise in generating exceptional outcomes for service users. We have a multi-disciplinary team, and, in collaboration with families and the system around them, we develop a shared view of needs through formulation, agree goals and test out hypotheses through intervention plans.
We undertake work with families considered on the 'edge of care', reunification of children to birth family and working with young people in care to stabilise placements. The families usually describe a range of challenges such as family relationship difficulties, educational difficulties, issues linked with a diagnostic category such as autism or ADHD and issues around anxiety, emotional/mental health or learning difficulties for children and adults.
The role is offered on a zero hours basis. You will be offered a minimum of 7 hours per week (plus travel at £13 per hour and 0.45p per mile). As a growing company we expect the demands of our service to grow and additional hours will be available in line with the increase in demands.
Our ideal candidate...
You will be an effective team player and this will include taking part in reflective supervisions.
You will undertake direct work with adults, children and families. This is in a community setting so you will be expected to travel to people's homes or provide sessions in other settings such as schools.
You will work collaboratively with professionals from other agencies such as Education and Social Care, understanding their different roles and perspectives and be able to bring professionals together for the benefit of the individual/child/family.
You will offer support and guidance to other agencies including work around assessments and interventions, this may involve attending team meetings and wider system meetings to talk through our ideas and interventions.
You will have a good understanding of safeguarding and comply with our safeguarding procedures.
You may be asked to write assessments, formulations and intervention plans, and will receive training and supervision around this.
