Job Title: Family Support Worker
Location: Westhoughton, Bolton.
Salary: £22,682.21 per annum (Pro-rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday – Friday.
Contract: Term-Time, plus 5 days (40 weeks per annum)

Who we are looking for:
Aspire Behaviour Management is currently on the lookout for motivated Family Support Worker, who is passionate about providing effective care and support to our Children and Young People within our Independent Nurture Setting, based in Westhoughton, Bolton.
Our Children and Young People have a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH), and therefore, you will be required to work alongside the Aspirations Hub Leader, and the children’s families to ensure they have the best education and care provided to them.
Therefore, our ideal candidate will have the following skills & knowledge:
- DSL Safeguarding Qualifications (essential).
- Parenting Intervention Qualification (essential).
- Qualification in Child Development (essential).
- Understanding of legal framework around SEN (essential).
- Experience of delivering group work (essential).
- Experience of supporting children in community-based activities (essential).
- Supervisory experience (desired).
- Experience of delivering training (essential).
- Experience of writing EHCP advice, CAF, early help, Provision Mapping Plans (essential).
- Evidence of continuing professional development related to SEN and challenging behaviour.
- Evidence of regular and appropriate professional development.

The Role:
Our aim is to provide Children and Young People attending our Educational Facilities, with a calm and nurturing environment to allow them to be supported to reach their full potential.
Children attending our Hub will be on the verge of being disaffected from education. In your role as School and Family Liaison Officer, you will be required to work with some of the most difficult and challenging children and families.
Therefore, day to day duties will involve:
- Providing flexible support and communication to all Hub and outreach staff
- Overseeing and completing observations and evidence gathering for transitions to and from the Hub
- Oversee and support our continued improvement through parental engagement and working with support and community services.
- Assist with the co-ordination of supply staff, liaising with schools. Offering shadowing for new recruits when necessary
- Conduct research of the needs of families by working alongside families in a variety of contexts - drop off, collection, drop-in sessions, attending parent/teacher meetings etc. and providing a clear needs analysis to support needs of the families
- Provide flexible support, guidance and problem-solving to families to address issues related to family functioning in an individual or group setting
- Provide training for parenting skill building to families on issues such as parent-child interaction, child development, discipline and guidance, and behaviour management.
- Oversee and support the induction of new families joining The Hubs
- Oversee and attend pupils’ meetings when necessary – including PEP, CLA reviews, CIN, TAF and statutory annual reviews of Statement/EHC plan.
- To keep up to date with developments and changes in the education service and other agencies.
- Support and deliver appropriate internal and external training/events
- To work at all times within agreed policies, working practices and ethos of The Hub.
- Undertake additional duties as required by the Directors within the nature of the business.
