Family Support Worker

Salary: £21,300 per annum.

Location: Norwich City and Eaton, Norfolk.

Contract/Hours: Permanent, Full-Time, 37 hours per week.

A bit about the role

Norfolk's Early Childhood and Family Service provide targeted support to families with children aged 0-5 years. The service offers a range of early childhood services for parents, prospective parents and young children to support in areas including bonding, speech and language development, parenting challenges, mental well-being and healthy relationships.

How you'll help to create brighter futures

You will be part of a supportive and dedicated team with opportunities for development. You will make a difference by:

  • Supporting the development of children by creating fun and stimulating environments to enhance skills and promote emotional resilience and positive behaviour.
  • Providing rich learning environments where children and their families can engage in stimulating play opportunities.
  • Facilitating interventions one to one or in a group to support identified areas of need e.g. infant massage, speech and language development.
  • Being alert to child protection and safeguarding issues and inform appropriate line managers.
  • Engaging in local community groups to promote the service and support families to access targeted support.
  • Form local partnerships with early years settings, libraries and GPs to promote the service and support families to access targeted support.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a passion for helping to create brighter futures. You will find full job description attached job description details the requirements of the role but the ‘must-haves' are:

  • Providing Level 2 or above qualification in social care, health, education, or early years.
  • Experience of delivering one to one or group support to children and families using the early years foundation stage (or similar).
  • Good IT skills and ability to record concise, accurate case notes.
  • Ability to build safe and effective working relationships with vulnerable young children and adults.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a variety of premises across the county (the role will be required to work across more than one district at times).
