Salary: £32,868 - £34,062 (SO1) per annum
We are looking for Family Practitioners in our frontline Family, Support and Safeguarding teams and Edge of Care service who are passionate about working with children and families and able to provide a range of targeted, individual and group interventions in order to improve outcomes for children and families.
We recognise that investing in effective, targeted support enables families to draw on their own resources and overcome challenges. This is why we are expanding our family support offer and looking to appoint family practitioners across the following three service areas;
Edge of Care
You will work with young people aged 11+ allocated across Children’s Social Care, who are on the edge of coming into Local Authority Care. You will work with young people at risk of exploitation and extra familial harm as well as family breakdown.
As a Family Practitioner in this service you will work directly with young people, their parents, carers and networks to build trusted relationships and support families to stay together where it is safe to do so. You will use a variety of intervention tools and methods, including restorative and signs of safety approaches to engage with young people and their families and work in partnership with the allocated Social Worker to work towards agreed goals and outcomes.
You will have the opportunity to develop your direct work skills as well as to work with a wide range of professionals from across the partnership to promote outcomes for young people within their family and community networks.

- Experience of delivering of high quality, outcome focussed support to children, young people and their families
- A track record of working inclusively and collaboratively in order to successfully build relationships and partnerships, both internally and externally, and the ability to establish trust and credibility.
- A creative and solution focussed approach to challenges and a commitment to continued development of skills and expertise
- An understanding of effective practice, child and adolescent development, families support models and evidence based practice as well the importance of contextual working and environmental factors.
- Motivation to embrace anti-discriminatory and anti-racist practice

Location
We are based in two offices in Catford SE6. There are 2 local train stations
5-10 minutes’ walk from both offices, and the train journey from London Bridge is approximately 15 minutes. There are also numerous bus routes that stop right by the offices. Whilst the service is primarily based in Laurence House, we operate a hybrid approach whereby you may be required to work both in the office and from home as determined by service requirements.
Further Information
For Family Practitioners in Family Thrive, you will be based in one of the 4 areas in the borough, working across family homes, Schools, Children’s Centres or other community settings, including virtual work from home where required.
