This is a great opportunity for a Paralegal to join a forward-thinking, innovative, and friendly team based in Reading. Reporting into the Family Partner you will be responsible for supporting the growing team with family law matters.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about family law with a key eye for detail and excellent communication skills.
As an organisation we are currently operating on a hybrid work pattern with approximately 2/3 days in our offices each week, however open to discussion.
Responsibilities… what will you do?
- Supporting the wider team with a varied caseload of family law matters
- Coordinating and attending client meetings, court hearings and conferences with experts
- Supporting the business development activities of the team, including writingarticles and blogs
- Handling initial enquiries from clients
- Dealing with correspondence and documents, including drafting of court forms
- Organising and maintaining up-to-date systems to ensure effective document management
- Preparing court bundles
- Administering files, to include opening and closing of files on case management system and their day to day maintenance
- Ensuring compliance with file management
- Providing support to other private client teams if required.
- General administrative tasks on files
Essential skills and experience… what are we looking for?
- Have a Degree or CILEX qualification
- A passion for Family Law and an understanding of working in a legal environment.
- The ability to work independently, with the ability to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach
- Work effectively within a team and on your own
- Be a collaborative team member with the ability to build relationships quickly with a wide range of people
- Be comfortable working under pressure with the ability to plan and prioritise work; have an appreciation of the needs and constraints of others in the team; and be commercially aware
- Strong client care skills and a sensitive and sympathetic understanding of clients’ needs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Carry out BD activities to generate growth.
- Possess first-class communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency within MS Office and Outlook
Desirable
- Previous experience of family work is highly desirable
