4 on 4 off Days 12pm – 6pm

£10.50 per hour

With opportunities to progress to Skilled or Multi Skilled through internal progression;
£10.90 per hour - Skilled
£12.19 per hour - Multi Skilled With opportunities to progress to Section Leade r/ Section Manager roles

Multi Skilled Operatives in the Bakery are responsible for the production of Pastry, Donuts, Choux, Sponge and Egg Custard Tarts from mixing through to baking. Managing small teams of staff as well as setting up and monitoring machinery.

Multiskilled Operatives in the Cooling Room is much less equipment based but does involve stock counting, staff rotation and working with production lines to ensure quality

Semi skilled roles are responsible for weighing and mixing ingredients.

Both roles have scope for progression, plenty of variety.

What we do?

Newark Desserts specialise in chilled desserts such as trifles as well as cream cakes, éclairs, doughnuts, profiteroles, and choux buns. We work with and supply to the leading UK grocery retailers and are Number 1 in cream cake and trifle production in the UK.

The site employs over 1,800 people and is one of four factories that are part of the Bakkavor Desserts sector in the UK.

What about the role?

As we continue to grow and provide outstanding customer service to our clients, we are looking to recruit a number of Factory Operatives/Food handlers to come and join us and become a part of our successful team in Newark.

As a Factory Operative/ Food handler you will be preparing, mixing and ensuring the production lines are operating efficiently. We manufacture lots of different products within the business so there is lots of variety in the factory environment and role profile.

You will be a team player, resilient and will be able to adapt to a factory environment as it can be busy, pressured, cold and wet. Your safety is our priority and to ensure this we will provide you with training and the relevant personal protective equipment.
