MAIN RESPONSABILITY : Dinnington Plant, The overall development, performance and maintenance of the factory’s activities to obtain the maximum efficiency, production, quality, service.
DUTIES
Overall responsibility for the site and day to day operations of the factory (24/7 operation), including; production, supply chain and logistics, warehousing, health and safety, training, machine/site maintenance and facility maintenance.
Day to day responsibilities agreed with your manager to include:
Monitor the overall performance of the factory and lead all production facility and administrative departments.
Site and Facilities Maintenance:
- Maintain and improve machinery for factory production and activities, including surveying and measuring the operations, processes, outcomes and disseminate feedback to the appropriate internal entities.
- Facilities maintenance including chilled water, AHU, resin feed.
- Responsible for the maintenance team of 4 maintenance technicians.
Supply Chain, Planning:
- Manage and analyse production schedules in partnership with manufacturing, demands and sales forecast. Purchasing of raw materials. Transport planning.
- Liaise with the sales team regarding current or future planning challenges.
- Responsible for the customer service function on site. Invoicing and sales pricing.
Health and Safety and Training:
- Responsible for overall site health and safety and the H&S Officer.
- Maintaining and developing Health and safety plans in accordance with the health and safety legislation.
- Responsible for site training and compliance.
Warehousing and Inventory:
- Responsible for managing the warehouse function.
- Inventory management, raw material including stocks of resin, masterbatch and packaging.
- Finished goods inventory management.
- Responsible for year end stock take.
- Management and set up of new suppliers and supplier approved list.
Other:
- Project management, including new production line set up
- Liaise among different departments, e.g. suppliers, managers
- Work with managers to implement the company's policies and goals
- Develop plans for team activities to include strategy to achieve targets
- Delegate authority and responsibility to team with supervision, accountability and review
- Set an example for team members of commitment, leadership and work ethics
MAIN COMPETENCES :
Thorough understanding of factory environments, manufacturing and business process and management, requirements and dynamics
Previous Experience in Supply chain, logistics and warehousing, health and safety, training and site maintenance.
Leadership skills with ability to motivate and manage a team with proven ability to coach and develop others
Ideally educated to a degree level e.g. engineering degree or equivalent with a significant experience in packaging industry, preferably plastics
knowledge of process Management and quality / environment systems
Quality systems knowledge; BRC/IoP, ISO
