We are looking for an enthusiastic Factory Manager to join our Egg Innovation Centre at our fantastic Company nestled in Lacock, Wiltshire. The role of the Factory Manager is to deliver the cooked egg production and delivery agenda in conjunction with Site Engineering, Site Technical and Development.
Key Tasks and Duties
- Leadership responsibility for cooked egg production facility (EIC), working as part of the EIC leadership team and with the wider leadership team across site.
- Own and monitor KPIs including yield, performance, waste and efficiency.
- Introduce projects that deliver improvement against targets.
- Deliver continuous improvement on performance and ensure that all production opportunities are maximised.
- Develop a proactive safety culture in conjunction with the Health & Safety Manager and production teams.
- Ensure food safety procedures are trained and embedded. Develop a quality culture in conjunction with the Site Technical Manager and EIC Technical team.
- Develop the production management team, enabling ownership of own teams and management of people.
- Ensure production environment is ‘audit ready’ at all times.
- In conjunction with the engineering team, ensure that all production equipment is fit for purpose at all times.
- Ensure all produced stock is dispatched in a timely manner and in line with production and delivery schedules.
- Manage the NPD process within the factory from trails to product launch, ensuring all technical and development protocols are followed.
- Working with other stakeholders to deliver projects within the agreed capital expenditure plans.

- Flexible with time, the operation is 24/7 so hours may vary.
Experience and Qualifications
- Degree level education or equivalent experience (essential)
- 3-5 years experience in a similar role (essential)
- Management experience in a high care food environment (essential)
- Experience of customer visits and audits and food quality audits such as BRC (essential).
- Experience of using ERP systems and understanding the benefits of such systems (essential).
- How to use Microsoft Office suite of programs (essential).
- Level 3 Food Safety and Level 3 HACCP are desirable, but not essential as training to this level will be provided.
Health and Safety
- Be safety conscious in every task you perform and lookout for the safety of others working around you.
- Only Operate Machinery you are trained to use.
- Ensure you use the correct PPE for the task and that the PPE is in good condition.
- Ensure correct manual handling procedures are followed.
- Report and H&S concerns immediately.
Food Safety
- Must be willing to undertake Level 2 Food Safety qualification during probationary period. Employment confirmation is based on ability to pass this mandatory qualification.
- Comply with all hygiene and food safety procedures.
- Report any Food Safety concerns immediately
