INDUSTRIAL Labourer / caretaker

SPEL manufacture GRP stormwater pollution control systems and SuDS certified water quality products for a range of sites globally, including airports and RAF bases, schools, and large-scale distribution centres. Due to expansion we have vacancies in the manufacturing of GRP tanks providing an opportunity for hard working individuals within a growing business. Extensive training will be given.
This post is also for individuals with practical experience in a manufacturing environment , who have commitment and enthusiasm.
SPEL underground tanks are filament wound by the technically advanced chop hoop filament winding process (patented).
As a Mandrel Operator you will be given full training in the application of Glass Fibre onto motorised Cylindrical Moulds making a variety of 6m Long Fibre Glass Tank Shells.
The different tasks involved in this process are as follows:
- Maintaining and cleaning the factory site internally and externally
- Completing daily and weekly work schedules as well as adhoc tasks
- Blending chemicals for other areas of the business
- Using recovery equipment to recycle and reuse where possible
- Assisting in areas of production as required.
- Following instructions from supervisors and management
- Following Health and Safety instructions / manual when carrying out all tasks
- Ensuring that appropriate PPE is worn at all times. In order for the PPE to be effective and work within our guidelines then you must be clean shaven at all times.
After Initial Training -This will be a fixed AM or PM shift working the Following Hours:
6am - 2:30pm Monday to Friday
OR
10am - 6:30pm Monday to Friday
Starting rate of £10.50 to be reviewed after Induction period.
