What it's like to work here
The North Region of the National Trust is large, spanning from Manchester and Cheshire in the south of the region to the Scottish borders in the north. Our systems have been set up to enable you to enjoy a hybrid working arrangement where you can choose the best working environment for the task in hand, but this role does require a minimum of four half days working on-site. We’re a flexible employer and supportive of helping you find a healthy work-life balance.
This is a role that fits into the bigger jigsaw of Regional Business Services Team and we can be flexible about the hours you'll work.
We have 5 office Hubs within the North region, and you will be part of our team of Facilities Co-ordinators. You'll be based at our Grasmere Regional Hub to help us co-ordinate compliance and maintenance in the Hub.
What you'll be doing
The National Trust is a busy organisation that has a lot going on at all times - you can guarantee that no day is the same, so you'll have to love variety and working at pace. You'll be part of a team that provide specialist support to our Regional Director, Assistant Directors, and Internal Consultants. You'll help us plan ahead and prepare for future activity and will be willing to be an active, passionate part of our team.
In the Facilities element of the role, you’ll be responsible for supporting the delivery of an efficient, effective, flexible facilities service to enable the successful operation of our Grasmere Regional Hub. You’ll support the team to meet its objectives by ensuring high standards are delivered and always maintained. You’ll undertake tasks such as supervising contractors, the preparation of meeting rooms and the co-ordination for services such as deliveries and collections from the Hub.
You’ll be assisting with the provision of planned, preventative and reactive maintenance and repairs, including using National Trust business systems to ensure that the Grasmere Regional Hub is safe and compliant with Health and Safety regulations.
In the Business Services element of the role, you'll always champion best practice when it comes to service and will be confident challenging the norm when you think there's a better way of doing something. In any given day you could be helping to arrange a region-wide event, liaising with external partners, or looking at ways to review and improve a process. You'll connect and form strong relationships with the Internal Consultancy, with the other Regional Business Services Co-ordinators as well as being an active member of the National Business Services community.
