We currently have a great opportunity for a Facilities Manager – Security/Front of House to join our team at Nottingham Trent University.
This is a permanent, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week based on a 3 week rolling rota to include evenings, nights and some weekends’. The salary is £35,000 per annum.

As the Facilities Manager you will support the management team in the delivery of contracted services in line with the SLA and manage the Facilities Officer/Security team in order to deliver an excellent service, ensuring a secure environment at all times for residents to live and study.
Alongside this, you will provide supervision and organisation of all the designated residences’ operations for evenings, nights and weekends, leading by example and supporting the onsite team to ensure a comprehensive, effective, and efficient service for the customer.
Role responsibilities include:
- Monitor and review working practises and procedures and update operational guidelines as required
- Liaise on a regular basis with the Operations Managers/General Manager, Residence Managers, University Wardens Service and Security Managers.
- Maintain and manage an effective reporting system for all incidents and provide regular management reports.
- Provide operational support and advice to Duty Supervisors regarding operations, customer service, health & safety, site security, welfare support and incident response
- Establish and maintain an out of hours helpdesk for UPP central region
- Respond effectively to any critical incidents, complaints or crisis that arise
- Manage contract security provision, costs and standards of service, liaise with contract security provider regularly
- Prepare, implement and review site security procedures
- Assess emergency maintenance issues and escalate for support from on call staff or suitable contractor when appropriate
- Provide regular management information returns on all incidents related to student welfare and behaviour
- Assist with the recruitment, induction, training and appraisals of the FO team
This is a varied and challenging role which requires excellent communication and organisational skills, decision making, flexibility, and the ability to prioritise workloads and resources, in order to meet deadlines and provide a great customer experience.
