Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Building and Security:
- To ensure the building and car parks are opened up and key duties completed ready for business each morning on time.
- Responsible for the general security of the building and car parks, including keys, security systems, CCTV and staff entry fobs.
- To be available to act as first keyholder in cases of out of hours needs such as Security or Fire Alarm call outs.
- Coordinate and carry out all building and plant safety and servicing checks.
- Maintain the building facilities to a high standard.
- Ensure cover of the main switchboard between 8am-9am or as required.
- Ensure Reception area is manned at all times and that correct protocols for visitors are complied with.
- Responsible for ensuring all grounds (including car parks) are maintained to a high, clean and tidy standard and to ensure appropriate waste material is disposed of correctly.
- Other similar duties as required.
Porter:
- Meet and greet visitors to the building, following sign in procedures
- Ensure all new members of staff are issued with appropriate passes and key fobs.
- To carry out Health & Safety inductions for all new members of staff.
- To provide assistance to the Cleaners where required.
- To collect items from the shop as required.
- Book meeting rooms on request from staff
- To ensure incoming post is distributed throughout the building each morning and outgoing post is processed on the system and ready for pick up each evening.
- To assist with general maintenance of the building where necessary
- To carry out responsibilities with regard to risk assessments, manual handling, general Health and Safety and COSHH.
- To wear corporate uniform at all times whilst on duty as well as using personal protective equipment as specified in relevant safe systems of work and policies.
- To act as First Aider, Fire Warden and Risk Assessor – training will be provided if required.
- To maintain and replenish stock levels of items such as toiletries, refreshments, cleaning equipment.
- To maintain appropriate records such as fire tests, issue of keys/passes.
- To provide chauffeur services to the Executive Chairman when required.
- Any other duties commensurate with the nature of the role.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Full, clean UK drivers’ licence and own vehicle.
- NEBOSH Health & Safety at Work qualification or similar
- Skills in basic Microsoft Office packages – Outlook, Word, Excel
- Ability to carry out general building maintenance to a high standard, with knowledge and skills in general maintenance tasks such as painting, fixing and fitting
- Previous experience working in a similar role
- Enthusiastic and hard working
- Excellent people skills with good customer service
- A flexible approach to work
- Take pride in your work
- Attention to detail
- Team player with good organisational skills.
- Ability to use own initiative
Desirable
- First Aid at Work qualification would be advantageous
- Knowledge of and interest in trades such as plumbing & electrical

Competitive salary, depending upon experience.

37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday
7.00am-3.30pm (with a one hour unpaid lunch break)
Part time:
25 hours per week, Monday - Friday
7.00am-12.30pm (with a 30min unpaid break mid-morning)
Or
12noon- 5.30pm (with a 30min unpaid break mid-afternoon)
