Health and Safety and Facilities Manager
Hadleigh, up to 9 months maternity cover, negotiable hours – Salary circa £40k dependent upon experience (pro rota for part time)
We are looking for an experienced Health and Safety professional to help maintain our current Health and Safety function whilst our existing Manager is on maternity leave.
We need somebody can oversee policies and procedures of health and safety across site while providing advice where applicable throughout the business.

Whilst farming was becoming harder to be profitable, Jim installed a forge and started to make bespoke pieces for friends and neighbours. This soon began to grow as it was clear that there was a demand for high quality, stylishly designed fixtures and fittings for the home.
Roll forward to today and the Jim Lawrence name is a well-respected name amongst the lighting and home furnishings industry. The business sells a wide range of lighting, fixtures, and furnishings to a loyal customer base across the UK and internationally. At its Hadleigh home the business has grown to over 145 employees whilst always keeping family values at its core.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A high level of knowledge and experience of health and safety within manufacturing.
- A full knowledge and understanding of legal health and safety requirements
- Excellent IT skills along with interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience of working with/managing internal and external audits.
- NEBOSH qualified required
- Leadership skills with the ability to inspire a safe working culture.
The key areas of responsibility for the role will be:
- Manager all aspects of existing H&S policies and procedures to include but is not limited to risk assessments, COSHH and KPI’s.
- Provide H&S Regulatory advice when required.
- Continue to promote a positive safety culture in the business from the ground up
- Assist in the investigation of accidents and incidents to try and eliminate the root cause.
- Report and advise daily on health and safety updates and concerns.
- Establish open lines of communication with the management and shop floor employees to maintain a positive safety culture.
- Lead review of Environmental and Waste Management.
- Manage any H&S Inspections and Audits from governing bodies.
