Here at UPP we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Management Assistant to join our Euston/Kings Cross team.
This is a permanent full-time position working 38.5 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday from 12pm – 8pm. The salary is £26,071 per annum.
The Facilities Management Assistant supports the team in providing an excellent customer service and secure environment for residents to live and to study. You will be responsible for operating the Reception Desk and monitoring reactive and planned maintenance on the computerised system.
Role responsibilities include:
- Provide an excellent and comprehensive reception service to the students and office team; keeping records of all visitors, contractors and issue keys when required
- Assist managers in the co-ordination of all on-site activities and day to day administration
- Operate a computer based property management database monitoring all reactive work and planned maintenance in accordance with the Service Level Agreements (SLA) and complete all necessary reports as required
- Carry out regular walks around the residence and grounds, reporting any security/safety issues
- Monitor and control health, safety and maintenance standards within residence and grounds
- Control, monitor and supervise out of hours access to the residence, ensuring compliance with fire, health and safety procedures and any other relevant residence instructions
- Respond effectively to fire alarm activations and liaise with the emergency services
- Undertake training as required, and act as the appointed First Aider, if required
- Liaise, as necessary, with other UPP staff, university clients, sub-contractors and conference delegates
- Monitor the conduct of students, encouraging reasonable and fair behaviour and liaise, if required, confidentially with student support services, chaplaincy and other agencies, in relation to student welfare following the company’s policy for pastoral welfare
We are looking for you to have worked in a similar role and environment and have great communication, organisation and administrative skills, along with an attention to detail and the passion to do a great job.
You will also be flexible to work (with notice) additional hours when the needed, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends.
