British Airways Engineering Wales is home to BA’s world class engineering team, and we would like to welcome applications for our latest Materials and Contracts vacancy within our BAMC business.

The role of Facilities and Contracts Manager is a key senior position within BA Engineering Wales with the diverse responsibility for the facilities management and of the site and contract activities for the BA Engineering Wales facility. Reporting into the Head of Operations, the key responsibilities will include:

  • Contract management and services to the value of up to £8M
  • Selecting and evaluating suppliers with the aim of delivering best value and service contracts
  • Contract implementation, contract performance and managing and developing suppliers
  • Ensuring services are procured in a cost effective manner and in line with financial targets
  • Controlling the acquisition and disposal of assets to meet financial objectives and in compliance with Engineering policy, airworthiness and safety standards
  • Consulting and liaising with key stakeholders including BA Supply Chain and Procurement and supporting the team to ensure the provision of all requirements
  • Supporting the ongoing technical and personal development of the Facility & Purchasing team and the Tools and Equipment team
  • Strategically planning for the future development of the facility with a sustainability lens

  • The ability to forecast and predict future challenges to embed a non-reactive, delivery led culture

We will also need you to have the following skills:

  • Proven experience in CDM regulations and Health and Safety legislation
  • Experience of contract tendering, negotiation, and contract management
  • Proven ability in procurement, inventory management and supplier management
  • Educated to HNC level, degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Procurement qualification desirable

This is a based in BAEW’s purpose-built Aircraft Maintenance facility located on Cardiff International Airport.
