FY3 (ST1 Equivalent) Locally Employed Doctor Programme

Are you looking to progress your medical career whilst working at a major London teaching hospital? This is an exciting time to join Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust as a trust grade doctor and become part of the Locally Employed Doctors (LED) Programme.

We are recruiting for F3 grades in various specialities to start August 2nd 2023. Suitable candidates should have completed Foundation Training or equivalent. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust with access to world class training facilities.

Positions are offered for 12 months starting in August 2023, with 6 months in each of 2 specialities or, a 6 month post in one specialty, starting in either August 2023 or Feb 2024.

Successful candidates will: -

  • Be granted access to HORUS e portfolio
  • Be given a named educational supervisor
  • Have a £400 study leave budget/10 days study leave per annum
  • Be given 6 monthly interim progress reports and annual review process
  • Access to quality improvement and research projects
  • Have support and oversight from the LED training programme director Dr Dheeraj Kalladka and Programme Manager Jennifer Shelden
During your F3 post we expect you to obtain a portfolio of knowledge and skills in order to progress your career.

Interviews will take place w/c 17thApril 2023 and will be conducted via Microsoft Teams.

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust has a programme of F3 posts across a number of specialities. Posts will be suitable for those doctors that have completed Foundation Training or equivalent. Excellent teaching opportunities will be provide, the post holders will be encouraged to attend local teaching in departments and will have study leave time and funding of £400 and 10 days per annum. The post holder will be encouraged to undertake small projects and present at conferences as appropriate. Whilst individual posts will vary in the content – duties will generally include ward work, participation in ward rounds and multidisciplinary meetings as well as time in theatre (where relevant) and outpatient clinics. Posts will usually (but not always) include out of hours and are full shift rotas with senior medical supervision available at all times.

Candidates shortlisted for interview will be asked to rank the jobs they would be happy to except and indicate if they want 1 x 6 month post or a rotation of 2 x 6 month posts.
