Post: Full Time Early Years Teaching Assistant with Early Years experience
Responsible to: Head of Early Years
Purpose of the role: Support Class Teachers and children in Pre-School, based in our Early Years department.

Responsibilities
Curriculum
- Prepare suitable focus activities and select appropriate books and materials for pupils, taking into consideration the provision for able and less able pupils in liaison with the Learning Development Department
- Assist in the monitoring and evaluation for effective delivery of the curriculum
- Keep abreast of the latest developments in teaching within the EYFS
Administration
- Being a Keyworker which will involve; observing the children, completing learning journals regularly and write termly progress summaries for each individual child
- Help to organise departmental resources
- Assist in the organisation residential visits and trips where appropriate
- Assist in carrying out observations for key worker pupils and updating Learning Journey’s
Contact with Parents
- Liaison with parents in relation to academic and behavioural matters
- Attending relevant parents’ meetings and being available to meet with parents at other times, where necessary
Discipline
- Ensuring that members of the class maintain a high standard of appearance and behaviour; liaising with the Head of Early Years if there are breaches of school discipline
- Helping to keep classrooms tidy and in good order with changed displays
- It is essential for staff to take an active part in the extra-curricular life of the school
