Personal Tax Centre Apprenticeship Programme
Bring your societal awareness to our tax environment. Help our clients meet their tax obligations. And embark on a career journey you can own, shape and grow.
“I'm happy I chose an apprenticeship over university; it's given me first hand work experience and the opportunity to study for a qualification without student debt. I'd recommend it to anyone.” – Daniel, Personal Tax Centre Apprentice
About the programme
With clients that range from aspiring entrepreneurs to the UK's leading financial institutions, we support our clients by helping them navigate the complex and ever-changing demands of UK tax legislation. As a member of this team, you’ll embark on an apprenticeship that will help you build a better working world – all while you build a successful career with huge potential.
What will you be doing?
- Specialising in personal tax within Financial Services.
- Helping to deliver personal tax compliance, tax reporting and/or advisory services as part of a team.
- Building important relationships with clients and senior stakeholders.
- Helping clients transition to the new government digital platform.
How is it structured?
Developing your understanding of UK taxation rules is at the heart of this apprenticeship. Wherever you’re based, you’ll learn on the job, enjoy access to coaching, and get lots of support from your team. This is a Level 4 Apprenticeship where you’ll work towards a qualification with the Association of Taxation Technicians, with the potential to complete the Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) qualification across your career.
Year one
In your first year, you’ll begin working towards your professional qualifications.
Year two
Over the course of the apprenticeship, you’ll build invaluable business skills and knowledge that will ready you for a brilliant career, wherever you set your sights on.
Alongside our programme offering, we give you all the training and exposure to real-world work you could want. We also offer company-wide and programme-specific rewards that make all the hard work worthwhile. These include wellbeing initiatives, a free tech MBA, healthcare support, a pension scheme and more.
Technology in Personal Tax
Technology and innovation are driving change in the way we offer tax services to our individual and corporate clients. We work on the design and implementation of digital tax solutions to meet all our client needs. Recent projects include a mobile application built to deliver personal tax services to individuals, using artificial intelligence and document intelligence to extract tax data, data analytic tools and building from the ground up on a solution for Making Tax Digital.
This is where your adventure begins and where you have every opportunity to build an exceptional experience. Embrace the challenge as you help us build a better working world for everyone.
Are you eligible to apply?
We operate an open access policy, meaning we don’t screen out applications on your academic performance alone. You will, however, need a minimum of grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths, and to have completed three A-levels/Five Highers (or equivalent).
We welcome applications from all academic backgrounds and are looking for people who will succeed at EY today and tomorrow. That's why, through our recruitment process, your academic performance will be considered against your online assessment scores to determine your suitability for an EY role. We’re also proud to partner with RARE recruitment, so that your application can be processed in the context of your socio-economic background.
Extra government requirements
For this programme, the government has further additional requirements.
- You should not be in receipt of government funding for further education, higher education or learning support.
