Hours: 19.5 Per Week Contract Type: Permanent Service Area: Adult Social Care Department: Extra Care Services We are looking for an Extra Care Support Worker to be based in one of our Extra Care Services at Avondown House on a part time basis on permanent contract. This role is for 19.5 hours per week and working every other weekend with some bank holidays for which enhancements are paid. The Avondown House offers a vibrant community atmosphere which is in Bath, Somerset and this is easily accessible via public transport or car. What is Extra Care? Extra Care Housing is for adults, who have some care needs, with an assured tenancy in a self-contained flat in a purpose-built or adapted scheme. Our Extra care housing services have been rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in June 2022. As an Extra Care Support Worker, you will: Assist tenants with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene and dressing Promote tenant’s independence, choice, dignity, and respect by delivering the best standards of care Adhere to and complete accurate and timely records of the care and support provided to tenants Providing support to access third party and NHS services Be a strong team player and work on own initiative when needed Promote lifestyle choice, offering individuals the opportunity and motivation to retain independence and stay in control of their lives. About You Previous experience of working in care would be an advantage, but a commitment to deliver quality care is essential and full training will be provided. This post attracts a welcome payment of 5% of the starting salary for the grade to enable individuals to join our permanent workforce.
