Hourly: £10.37 - £18.97
*These pay rates are subject to seasonal incentives and may change*
Popular shift patterns are available, such as 07.30 – 15.30 and 20.45 – 07.45, but our Trusts are open to different start/finish times and lines of work (e.g. short-shifts during school hours)

The role may involve, but not be limited to you performing the following:
- Ensuring that the patient is the prime focus when making decisions about their care and wellbeing
- Assisting patients with compassion when undertaking normal activities of daily living whilst ensuring that privacy, dignity, and human rights are respected
- Implementing holistic, culturally sensitive, respectful, non-judgmental care from a pre-determined care plan for patients with a wide range of care needs
- Sterilising equipment and restocking consulting rooms
- Taking blood samples and sending them to the lab
- Monitoring patients' conditions by taking temperatures, pulse, respirations and weight
- Assisting in the delivery of patient care as directed by the Registered Nurse
- Providing routine patient care duties at own discretion in accordance with Trust policies, protocols, and guidelines
- Participating in the taking and recording of observations under the direction of the Registered Nurse and report the results to the Nurse in charge
- Using initiative when responding to changes in a patient’s condition within own sphere of practice
- Recognising limitations and escalating concerns
To apply for this post, you will/have:
A minimum of 6 months experience as a Healthcare Assistant (Acute) or studying as a Student Nurse with at least 12 weeks’ clinical placements, studying towards a relevant Nursing degree
If a non-student, but a qualified HCA, you will need one of the following: a QCF Level 2 or above Diploma in Health & Social Care or Clinical Healthcare Support, a QCF Level 3 or above Diploma in Healthcare Support, a QCF Level 3 or above Diploma in Health, a QCF Level 2 or above Diploma in Healthcare Support Services or a degree/diploma in nursing and currently do not have an NMC registration
Assist in the delivery of patient care as directed by the nurse in charge of the unit/ward, undertaking duties and activities, with limited or indirect supervision
Carry out procedures and techniques in accordance with agreed policies and standards
Ensure accurate records are kept in accordance with Trust guidelines
Undertake regular mandatory training*
All applicants must be competent in taking the following practical observations:
Manual Blood Pressure, Respirations and a Pulse.
*Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additionnal certification and skills.
