Job description

Be a part of something amazing.

£30,502 - £36,386+ benefits package, and a great working environment

We are seeking a talented, motivated, and creative individual for the newly created role of Exhibitions Project Manager.

Working in close collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders across the museum and University, the role holder will develop and deliver a world-class exhibition programme that reflects the Museum's strategic objectives and meets the needs of the Museum's diverse audience and is delivered on time and within budget. As the principal museum of the University of Cambridge and the largest cultural venue in the region, The Fitzwilliam Museum acts as a crucial bridge between the University, the City and the rest of the world, and has an international reputation for extraordinary research, world class exhibitions, award-winning public programmes and amazing collections spanning many cultures and centuries. The Museum's conservation centre, the Hamilton Kerr Institute (HKI), is one of the world's leading centres for teaching and research in conservation.

Temporary exhibitions, and displays in the museum's permanent galleries, are where the Museum meets its audiences directly. They are integral to how the Fitzwilliam delivers on its mission and are a core output of its research activities, often involving collaboration with researchers from the wider University and beyond. The ambitious and innovative programme of exhibitions and displays are designed to transform and enhance the visitors' experience and engagement with the collections.

Cambridge is a beautiful city on the River Cam in eastern England, home to the prestigious University of Cambridge, dating back to 1209. The Fitzwilliam Museum is one of eight museums which work in partnership with Cambridge University Botanic Garden and the University Library as the University of Cambridge Museums consortium, with internationally 'Designated' collections spanning archaeology and anthropology, polar exploration, the history of science and zoology and fine art.
