Job Title: Exhibition Assistant (Three Year Fixed Term Contract)
Salary: Pro rata of £23,032 up to £24,717 inclusive annual salary + up to 19.7% employer pension contribution
Contract: Fixed Term Contract
Post: Part-time (22 hours per week)

Annual Leave: Pro rata of 26.5 days plus public bank holidays

St Albans Museums runs several sites including Verulamium Museum, the 15th century Clock Tower and the new St Albans Museum + Gallery, at the heart of the city centre.

Recently, our museum service successfully secured funding from Arts Council England as part of the National Portfolio Organisation programme.
In this post which is funded by the grant, you will provide administrative and practical support to the Museum Service in delivering exhibitions and associated events. The role will be primarily working with the Audience Development Team, which includes colleagues from curatorial, learning, community engagement and volunteering, to deliver the core Museum Service programme and specific NPO projects. You will also assist the team with all aspects of the exhibition development and collections work.
Educated to GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English you will also have experience in working in an administrative role. Excellent customer service skills, including good telephone manner and the ability to deal with third parties and the public calmly and effectively is essential for this post. A Keen interest in working within the museums, heritage and culture arena is also required.
