The role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to provide high quality, confidential Executive Assistant support to the Vice Chancellor at York St John University.
The Vice Chancellor is responsible for the overall leadership of the University including setting its strategic direction and overseeing its operational running. The successful candidate will provide invaluable assistance in ensuring the smooth delivery of the Vice Chancellor’s activities within the University setting, regionally, and nationally, by maintaining effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Vice Chancellor and Vice Chancellor’s Communications and Office Manager to identify priorities within the Vice Chancellor’s Office and oversee a series of defined workstreams to support the continuous improvement of associated processes and practices. You will also be responsible for the smooth operation of Executive Board meetings, helping to support informed decision making at a senior level, as well as leading on the planning of a number of high-profile external and internal events.
Key requirements
This exciting role requires initiative, individual awareness and influencing skills together with excellent communication, planning and organisational capabilities.
You will have PA or significant senior administration experience and demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain successful relationships with colleagues at all levels. You will exercise significant confidentiality and be able to navigate complex situations with discretion and tact.
This is an extremely busy and rewarding post which requires a pro-active approach, excellent time management and the ability to juggle workloads to conflicting demands. The ability to manage complex diaries with changeable appointments is essential.
