Executive Assistant (Heavy Earth Moving and Construction)
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast moving and growing business as the new executive assistant to the General Manager. We are looking for an adaptable candidate who can work well under pressure, prioritise tasks and be flexible when new challenges arise. The role will support the day to day management of the Heavy Plant Hire Desk, Marketing and Transportation requirements.
Main responsibilities will vary but include:
- Supporting the General Manager to significantly build and grow the business
- Oversight and Administration of Machine hire & transportation plans
- Supporting the administration on the Hire and Transport desks
- Creating hire agreements, ensuring they are signed before delivery
- Identifying NEW customers and rental opportunities
- Work with route providers for the plant transportation
- Maintaining the admin records of all owned and rented machinery
- Managing the marketing and promotion of machines via social media – Website, Facebook, twitter, WhatsApp, mailshots etc.
- Customer liaison – Acting as the face of the business, Making calls, promoting the company
- Assisting the workshop where necessary to prioritise jobs and services
- Oversee the procurement of parts, managing supplier lists and labour for machines
- Supervising and motivating Workshop and Office staff
Ideally applicants will have the following experience:
- Previously worked in an Admin, Marketing or Executive Assistant role
- Experience in plant hire, construction, or civil engineering industries hugely advantageous.
- Track record in field sales / business development
- Highly motivated and commercially aware to bring in recurring and new business
- IT literate with proven experience of MS packages – specifically Excel and Word
- Experience of being part of a growing business, implementing new ideas / process improvements
Additional requirements:
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Experience of working with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, mailchimp and Xero
