JOB PURPOSE
As the Executive Assistant to Company Secretary and the Board, you will play a crucial role in the workings of the Company Secretariat and predominately be responsible for the effective organisation and running of board and committee meetings. You will also provide a comprehensive level of administrative and organisational support to the Company Secretary, ensuring smooth and efficient running of the function and acting as a true right hand.
This Executive Assistant role is offered on a full time, permanent basis and will be based from our Horseferry House offices in Westminster, London 5 days per week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accountable for organising and planning all Burberry Group plc Board and Committee meetings, taking the lead on organisation and orchestration to ensure success
- Collating meeting papers and guidance for presenters and presentations, reacting to the real-time needs
- Building trusted relationships with (non-executive) members of the Board and their EAs/PAs, liaising in respect of meeting arrangements, travel/expenses and individual needs/arrangements to provide the best environment for all
- Supporting induction activities for new Board members in partnership with the Company Secretary
- Helping create an effective, efficient and successful environment for the Company Secretary, providing guidance, insight and suggestions to support current priorities
- Management of the Company Secretary’s diary, travel and expenses, and ensuring they are fully prepared for each meeting
- Responsibility for Company Secretarial team engagement activities and team meeting arrangement
PERSONAL PROFILE
- Demonstrable experience as an Executive Assistant or similar role, ideally within a Corporate Secretariat function within a corporate environment
- High level of professionalism, discretion, commitment and ability to express opinions in a clear, practical and commercial manner
- Experience in event management, with examples of orchestrating and managing events with successful outcomes
- Strong influencing skills – able to gain credence from, build trust and appropriately engage with the highest level of stakeholders
- Ability to work independently, with an acute sense of responsibility and accountability
- Operate with sensitivity, partnered with a well-developed sense of judgement and awareness to deal with senior internal and external business executives
- Highly computer literate, particularly in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel Diligent Boards, Concur, SAP and Ariba knowledge desirable
