We are looking for an Executive Assistant to the General Counsel – Minerals to support the delivery of processes (captive and Outsource Service Provider) ensuring a performance driven organization with a commercial intent that focuses on customer satisfaction.
This role is a great opportunity for an experienced individual who would be responsible for the delivery of a timely, efficient and effective high level office administration, executive support and confidential secretarial support service for various senior leaders throughout the organization. The role holder is primarily responsible for providing administrative and coordination support and will be expected to work in close collaboration with other support team members to ensure the effective functioning of a large project team. The role holder will be required to comfortably communicate with the most senior leaders or executive committee members of the RT organization. Reporting to the General Counsel – Minerals, you will be:
- Providing secretarial/administrative support directly to executives, exercising confidentiality, tact and Diplomacy.
- Keep control of tasks with high attention detail, high sense of accountability and ownership
- Using business software applications (e.g., word processing, presentation and spreadsheet) to
- Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, agendas, minutes, etc.; may prepare responses to
- Addressing Routine correspondence and inquiries.
- Receives, screens and directs incoming calls, visitors, mail and e-mail.
- Ability to manage complex calendars with ease
- Maintaining files, records, calendars and diaries; typically arranges business travel, coordinates
- Meeting arrangements, and tracks expenses.
- May participate in the implementation of administrative standards, policies and practices for the Organization.
- Managing dashboards, monthly reports and support any functional or special projects.
- Managing end to end service requests for stakeholders (e.g. RTTMS tickets, etc.)
What you’ll bring
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree/ Graduate qualification in any discipline
- Demonstrated years of relevant experience in handling a similar / same role and complexity preferably in a multinational environment across time zones or from Hospitality, Customer Care, similar background
- Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite ( including MS Excel and PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of standard office administrative practices and procedures
- Experience of working with multiple stakeholders out of which at least one of them was holding a senior role in the organization
- Experience in international operations and virtual working preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Where you’ll be working
Rio Tinto’s global headquarters is situated in St. James’s Square, in the City of Westminster, London, on the edge of the West End, and is the site of the group’s original head office. Located over several floors, the office is truly a global hub for the business, and is the base for many members of the Executive Committee. As such, the grade II listed office reflects the vibrancy of the location, although it also overlooks the tranquillity of the only garden square in the district, and is a short walk from Green Park and Piccadilly underground stations.
