Job description
The IFB Research Foundation, a UK research charity, is looking to recruit an experienced Executive Assistant to join our team. The purpose of the role is to provide administrative and operational support to the charity's Head of Research and its Board to enable the effective running of the charity and delivery of its activities. This includes administration across the charity’s main operations, including governance, fundraising, communications, and research.

The charity provides the owners and managers of family firms, business families, and their advisers with the tools, information, evidence, and insight to inform their decision-making. The IFB Research Foundation (IFBRF) was established as a registered charity in 2008 to foster greater knowledge and understanding of family firms and their contribution to the UK economy and society, as well as the key challenges and opportunities that they face. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
· To provide general administrative support for the delivery of the Charity’s research activities.
· To provide administrative support for fundraising activities.
· To provide administrative support with the Charity’s marketing, communications, and online activities.
· To provide administrative and secretarial support to the Charity's Board, its sub-committees, and in other areas related to the charity’s governance and management.
· To assist in the administration of events (e.g., conference, annual dinner, seminars, launch events, etc.)
· Provide additional administrative support to support Head of Research as required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
This section sets out the skills, knowledge and experience required for this post.
The following skills and attributes are essential:
· GCSE Maths and English at grade A*-C / 9-4 (or equivalent).
· Two A-Levels at grade A*-C (or equivalent).
· A Batchelor’s degree in a relevant subject, 2.2 or above.
· At least 5 years’ experience of administration/working in an EA role.
· Excellent written communication skills – written and oral.
· Experience of scheduling and arranging meetings.
· Excellent minute-taking skills.
· Excellent attention to detail.
· Ability to work independently without supervision combined with strong team-working skills.
· Highly organised, excellent time-management skills, ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload.
· Strong IT and online skills – competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; able to navigate social media (LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.); experience of preparing and uploading content for websites.
· Commitment to continuing professional development.
The following skills and attributes are desirable:
· Interest in family business and research.
· Experience and knowledge of social science, business, or management research.
· Experience of working in a charity or not-for-profit organisation.
· Experience of designing and editing documents using Adobe software
· A working knowledge of Google Analytics would be helpful.
