The Role
We have a unique opportunity for an experienced, technically savvy executive assistant. The varied role is to help the smooth running of our Edinburgh office, support senior management and assist research and user testing of our key software products.

The basic role would be part-time, 3 days a week in the office (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday), but a suitable humanities or scientific academic background would open the possibility of a full-time role expanding on the content creation and research aspects (working from home on Wednesday and Friday).

Core Duties

  • Supporting the management with coordinating and administrative tasks
  • Manage the running of the Edinburgh office to facilitate a comfortable, productive working and social environment
  • Manage calendars and scheduling
  • Manage invoices and expenses
  • Liaise with management in our parent office in Munich
  • User test our two as yet unreleased products (one is 3d data visualisation, the other is for exploring historical knowledge and information)
  • Online research and information gathering

  • Technically fluent using various office or creative software

Bonus Requirements
Whilst we are currently a small team the demands of the core requirements will fluctuate week by week. For the right person there is an opportunity to elevate the role with content creation, background research and user testing of our products to assist the development teams.

Our products are all about exploring and visualising knowledge and information, so the research could cover a diverse range of topics.

Any of the following would be of interest:

  • A degree in a humanities or science subject
  • Experience writing. Either personal blog, formal documents or digital publications
  • Experience generating reports and doing data analysis
  • Experience as a researcher finding and distilling information
  • A genuine interest and curiosity in a wide variety of subjects

Examples demonstrating any of the above would be great to see.

  • This is expected to be a part-time role at 21 hours per week Monday, Tuesday and Thursday (we have a hybrid work routine with Wednesday and Friday working from home)
  • For someone with a suitable bonus requirements it could become a full-time position (35 hours per week) working with the content team doing research and content creation

About KPV LAB
Formed in late 2017, KPV LAB Edinburgh is part of the international KPV Group, which has its headquarters in Munich, Germany.

The Edinburgh team (currently 12 people) is a software studio building next-generation platforms and experiences to explore and visualise knowledge and information.

Our products have a particular focus on managing data in time & space and encompass the fields of history, literature, science, music and business intelligence.

Our drive is to create new ways to explore and interact with knowledge that reveal meaningful insights and experiences.
