About the Team:

Reengineering & Expense Management Department (REM)

REM is a division within Morgan Stanley Corporate Services which supports functions that identify and execute opportunities to manage expenses through strategic sourcing, demand management, process reengineering, procurement management and sales and use tax optimization.

IT Sourcing is part of the REM department. It partners with technology partners supporting the Firm's business units to identify best practice solutions that will manage global costs and processes surrounding the acquisition of all IT related goods and services.

About the Role:

The Exchange Connectivity (ExConn) Sourcing Manager will support exchange colocation, connectivity supply management and corporate-wide demand management savings initiatives as a full-time member of our Telcom Sourcing team. The ExConn Sourcing Manager will operate in an individual contributor capacity; however, they will be a core team member to represent ExConn and provide regional coverage in EMEA. The position will also lead global savings initiatives assignments. This position is critical to productivity and for delivering on the IT ExConn Sourcing savings target through close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The ExConn Sourcing Manager will report to a Vice President of IT Telco Sourcing, based in New York.

Primary Responsibilities:

    Perform usage review on existing telecom services using established demand management methodologies that were developed by IT Sourcing. Identify savings opportunities and oversee decommissioning processes of the undesired services until the expenses being removed from vendor's billing

    Support investigation of new areas of spend outside of telecom which have not been historically sourced to find impact opportunities

    Provide Sourcing support to the business units (BU) on supply management including commercial negotiation and contract execution that pertains to stock exchange colocation and connectivity services

    Coordinate with internal stakeholder groups including Legal, supplier risk management, contract management, accounts payable, etc. to ensure timely issue resolution

    Lead bi-weekly review with internal stakeholder groups for savings validation and circuit decommission execution

    Act as focal point of contacts in EMEA to ensure successful implementation of ExConn processes

    Support the ExConn Lead to maintain savings tracker and prepare required management updates and reporting

    Provide cost transparency of exchange colocation, connectivity, and associated client expenses to BU COOs

    Make the BU proactively aware of connectivity pricing changes based on exchange price list adjustments

    Collaborate with global colleagues to ensure consistency in processes #LI-RG1 #LI-hybrid

QUALIFICATIONS

About You:

    5+ years' experience in the strategic sourcing category management in a fast-paced environment with a demonstrated ability to meet goals and deadlines, specifically on a global basis

    Experience in complex, global industries with a strong leadership, customer centric focus and a track record of delivering results

    Excellent negotiation experience and comfort representing the company's interests in interactions with third parties.

    Sound knowledge in stock exchange operations and contracts including exchange colocation (space and power), physical and logical connectivity, and cross connects

    A demonstrated ability to think strategically and act as a thought partner with teammates, senior leadership, and key stakeholders

    Excellent analytical capabilities with ability to translate analysis into tactics and results

    Exceptional problem-solving and project management capabilities to lead cross-functional team members with varied backgrounds and skills

    Excellent communication and presentation skills and proven ability to effectively interact with team members, clients, and peers, earning their trust and establishing credibility

    High energy level, intelligence, maturity, and unquestionable integrity with a team orientation

    Ability to be flexible, adjust to changing priorities and unforeseen events, and proactively adjust strategy and approach from new learnings
