Job description

Hours: Morning and/or afternoon invigilation.

Morning exams start at 9.00am (arrival time 8.30am)
Afternoon exams start at 1.30pm (arrival time 1.00pm)

We are looking to appoint enthusiastic, efficient and well organised people to support the exams officer in overseeing and supervising examinations in such a way as to ensure that guidelines and regulations for the integrity and security of the examination papers and procedures are followed during the examination sessions.

You will receive a timetable for allocated days when you will be required. This may vary from week to week depending on the number of exams taking place during each session or day. The pattern of exams is normally between 4 and 6 weeks in May-June; GCSE re-takes over several days in early November: Mock exams for two weeks in December; BTECs during January and February and sporadically throughout the year. Invigilators will be required to commit to certain busy days throughout the summer public exam period.

Coombe Boys’ is a popular and highly successful non-selective 11-18 school that is federated with Coombe Girls’ School and three local primary schools to comprise the Coombe Academy Trust, based in New Malden. Coombe Boys’ has approximately 1,000 students on roll, including a mixed sixth form.

Results at GCSE and in the Sixth Form are significantly above national averages and the school was graded Good with Outstanding Leadership & Management in its most recent Ofsted inspection (March 2018).
