Job description

We are recruitingex Police Motorcycle Officers to work at Major Events across the United Kingdom.

Our Police Accredited Traffic Officers (PATO) are approved under the CSAS scheme for over 10 Police Forces in the United Kingdom. This provides our PATO’s with the power of a Police Constable to direct traffic and deal with drivers for suspected Road Traffic Act offences through taking their details.

Using our High Visibility livery marked Motorcycles (such as BMW R1200-RT-P) the role involves touring the local road network around major events and tacking action to direct traffic away from congestion.

We operate a radio network similar to the emergency services with nationwide coverage, keeping you connected to our national Control Room and also our Silver/Bronze control at the Major Event.

We transport the Motorcycles to/from each event and have digital records documenting its full maintenance history. Riders are responsible for daily P.O.W.D.E.R check of vehicle.

For this role the following essential experience and skills are required:

  • Previously qualified as Police Motorcyclist
  • Current valid UK Motorcycle A Licence
  • Experienced in use of Police Radios & associated etiquette
  • Clear criminal history (ideally NPPV 2 current vetting held)
  • A friendly, outgoing and confident manner, particularly when dealing with the public
  • Strong team player and leader
  • Self-motivated, versatile and highly organised, with an acute attention to detail to deliver work at a consistently high standard
  • A passion to develop new skills, including adopting new technology and improving safety in the workplace

Ideal Skills and experience:

  • Good knowledge of typical managing traffic flows at major events
  • Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 penalty points

Motorcycles roles are from £14.50ph+. All meals are provided whilst on duty and we reimburse travel expenses of getting to/from deployments.

Role is ideal for those who enjoy Caravanning / Motorhoming as power & water connections available on most event sites.

Major events typically last 5-7 days in duration working a maximum of 12 hour shift period, typically in a multi biker team. Our major events are typically in the following force areas:

  • Devon & Cornwall
  • Avon & Somerset
  • Wiltshire
  • Gloucestershire
  • Dorset
  • Hampshire
  • Thames Valley
  • West Yorkshire
  • South Yorkshire
  • Cumbria
  • Metropolitan Police

Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 40 per week

Salary: From £14.50 per hour
