Job description

As Events Manager (Graduation) you will lead on the delivery of the University’s graduation ceremonies on campus, ensuring a professional and smooth-running graduation day experience for around 4,000 graduating students and their guests each year in July and December graduation sessions. You will also plan and deliver other corporate events and contribute to the successful delivery of graduations at key partner institutions overseas, creating advocacy and enhancing the University’s reputation and profile with external stakeholders. As part of delivering graduation activity, you will lead on the implementation of new systems and technology, including data management and processing (for example, registration and ticketing systems).
You will be an experienced professional with a track record of success in large-scale event management in a complex organisation; and in planning and delivering projects to time and budget. This role is strongly embedded in project management principles to deliver twice-yearly graduation sessions, so you will be confident using project management techniques. You will be a confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, and proven experience of working successfully with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You will have demonstrable experience of event promotion and marketing and developing successful communication strategies.
You would join an energetic and enthusiastic team that builds effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders and delivers a diverse programme of events and activities which promotes the University’s reputation and brand.
If you would like further information and an opportunity to discuss the role, please contact Dr Anna Mackenzie, Head of Corporate and Ceremonial Events on [email protected].
We encourage applications from people in all diversity groups and we can offer a blended working pattern.
