Job description

You will be responsible for the development and delivery of relevant Events, Experiences and Tastings that are supportive of the Customer Strategy and Partnership Plan, as well as acting as a subject matter expert for all food and drink experiences.

You will be responsible for developing the programme, operating model, relevant process and success criteria for your area. You are accountable for ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget and compliant.

You will work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders (at all levels) to shape and build relevant aspects of the programme, including relevant supplier income opportunities. You and your team will shape and support relevant subject matter expertise for other professions, eg event skills and product knowledge for Specialists.

Lead, manage and develop a team according to the accountabilities and responsibilities as outlined in the strategy and objectives.

  • Support all Partners to realise their potential aligning joint expectations and goals with what has been agreed with the people manager. In this role you will be responsible for:
  • Providing support for Partners to enable them to deliver their role outcomes
  • Supporting them in their personal and professional development,
  • Prioritising their activity and ensuring outcomes are delivered to agreed standards and timelines.
  • Being the escalation route for Partners when needed.
  • Accountable for end to end creative and operational development and delivery of experience propositions for both brands, on time and to budget.
  • Decision maker for operating models for relevant Waitrose experiential propositions,including, delivery methods and plans, performance management techniques, security of Partners, etc…
  • Responsible for development of process, operating model and success criteria for relevant area.
  • Create amazing guest experiences in relevant area.
  • Responsible for development of tools, materials, plans, processes and performance support.

Essential Skills:

  • Operational experience in Food & Drink events and experiences
  • Stakeholder management / senior influencing skills
  • Customer service management experience
  • High level of product expertise
  • Food & Drinks Experiences/Events management experience.
  • Training & Development experience - design and delivery.
  • WSET Diploma plus food safety L2.
  • Educator qualification.
