The role

We are looking to appoint an Event Coordinator on a Fixed Term Contract (12 months) to work in the University of Bristol’s Events Team in Education and Student Success.

The Events team, Education and Student Success, is responsible for the delivery of events that contribute towards the University’s vision and strategy, with a focus on enhancing the student experience. The team manages a diverse portfolio of work that includes graduation ceremonies, Welcome activities, celebrations and a range of other events.

What will you be doing?

The Event Coordinator will assist with:

  • The successful delivery of a programme of events, projects and related communications activities as part of the Events Team.
  • Provide support to the Event Officer and Events Manager.
  • Monitor plans and provide status updates to the Event Officer and Events Manager to make sure events/ projects are delivered on time and to budget, flagging variances where necessary.

Identify and solve problems relating to events, including those of a more complex nature including complaints or last minute changes to events seeking advice where appropriate.

You should apply if

  • You have experience of working in a team with an event delivery focus and have coordinated events/meetings.
  • You can juggle projects, work calmly under pressure and have great organisational skills and would like to progress your career in events management.
  • Proactive ‘can-do’, customer-focused attitude.
  • Experience of working on financial processes for a team/ organisation.
