ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

To support the continued growth of ESI Events, we are looking for an efficient, proactive and problem solving Events Assistant to help with the development, planning and successful delivery of our events, primarily our flagship ESI London over 19-20th October.


This includes assisting the Events Manager in executing ESI events through speaker/event platform management, agenda/website updates and overseeing the public appearance of ESI events. The role includes assisting with maintaining the high standard ESI events are known for, and will involve working with other departments within the Company to ensure this is met.


With some prior experience and a genuine interest in events, you should have a strong understanding of the role and value of ESI's events within the esports and video games ecosystem. Taking initiative, attention to detail and excellent communication skills will be critical to success.


The role forms part of an ongoing ESI events department expansion, with professional and personal growth opportunities for the right candidate.


The role reports into the Events Manager of ESI directly.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Assisting the events team with a number of events, including and primarily ESI London (19-20th October), but also others including the ESI Hall of Fame, and other events which may be organised during the period
  • Supporting the events team with logistical and administrative support
  • Agenda and website updates across all applicable platforms including Wordpress, Google Sheets and GRIP
  • Speaker outreach and communications, including communicating the progress of such with the wider team
  • Assist with attendee registration and support both prior to the event and during live days on the ticketing platform to ensure satisfaction and ease of access
  • Work with Media, Design, Marketing teams and the Events Producer to ensure that additional web elements are integrated smoothly and that graphics are created as requested
  • Input on creative & logistical decisions to deliver the ultimate event experience for all attendees
  • Setting up and dismantling of events at the venue(s)
  • On Live days, performing ad-hoc tasks as necessary, which include but are not limited to speaker management, attendee registration, sponsor & partner support & answering general enquiries from attendees

ABOUT YOU

You must have:

  • Remote (UK) location [For applicants for whom this is possible there is the option to visit the London office, and we suggest that it would be beneficial to spend one day a week at the office during the term if feasible]
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Impeccable communication skills, you must be attentive, clear, concise, friendly, respectful and professional
  • Ability to work simultaneously across multiple tasks and projects
  • Ability to perform under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and take the initiative, as well as closely with colleagues and under direction
  • Ability to work efficiently in a structured way, prioritising a wide range of tasks across various platforms (Bizzabo, WordPress, Google Docs, Google Sheets etc.)
  • Experience with Google Drive & Google Suite (Sheets, Docs & Slides primarily)

It would be nice if you had:

    • Knowledge of the esports landscape with an understanding of the core and associated markets
    • Some experience with basic CMS systems (WordPress)
    • An ability to think outside the box
    • An interest in optimising attendee experience
    • Knowledge of, a love for, and an understanding of the esports ecosystem
      • Work within the fast-paced and exciting esports & gaming industry
      • Be part of a high growth and exciting international news, media, and event company and agency
