The Alumni & External Engagement Team is one of the primary external-facing departments within CJBS. The department includes Alumni Relations, Events, Development, Stewardship, Data and Communications, and acts as the public face of the Business School, combining the provision of good external relations with fundraising activities.
The Alumni Events Assistant will be the first point of contact for event-related queries and the owner of the registration process for events. They will coordinate all catering and related logistics for External Engagement events ensuring School policies are adhered to and a smooth, efficient and high level of service is provided. The role holder will also need to assist with other administrative duties as requested by the Head of Events Alumni Relations or Director of Alumni & External Engagement.
The successful candidate will have experience in a customer-facing environment and a working knowledge of event management principles. Previous experience working within a similar environment, and the ability to be flexible, work with accuracy and close attention to detail whilst sometimes working under pressure are key. You will have excellent oral and written communication and a calm, efficient manner with the ability to deal with constantly changing arrangements for a large number of people attending complex events. You should be a team player with demonstrable enthusiasm and creativity.
This role is based in central Cambridge and offers a flexible working arrangement, which includes a combination of working from home and working in the office. The role includes occasional out-of-hours work and travel.
