Salary: £14,929 - £17,714 (pro rata)
Location: Pitt Building, Cambridge
Contract: Permanent/Part Time (25 hours per week. 8am – 1pm)

The Pitt Building Events team are seeking an enthusiastic and efficient Events Assistant to provide a professional reception service and support the successful operational delivery of meetings, events, training courses and exhibitions at our prestigious conference venue in Cambridge city centre.
The Events Assistant role is a part time job share and the standard working hours are Mon-Fri 08.00-13.00 hrs, although there will be opportunities for flexible hours, overtime and evening and weekend work.
About the role
You will be the first point of contact for all of customers, visitors, suppliers and stakeholders and you will have the opportunity to enhance every customer's experience of the Pitt Building. Working in a small team, you will be able to contribute to the strategic aims of the business and create impact. The key requirements of the role are:
- Provide a professional, efficient and friendly reception service
- Support the operations, administration and service of Pitt Building events
- Professionally promote the Pitt Building conference, event and hospitality facilities
- Ensure Pitt Building staffing adequately supports the operational needs and customer expectations of the business
- Support the delivery of all aspects of Pitt Building catering service
- Preserve the safety, security and appearance of the Pitt Building
- Support the environmental impact strategy of the Pitt Building
About you
You will have a proactive approach to problem solving and be able to balance conflicting priorities in a fast–paced environment. You will deal confidently with a wide range of people and enjoy working in a customer facing environment.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Strong communication, problem solving and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and in a job-share partnership
- Experience and aptitude to provide an excellent customer experience
- Confidence to troubleshoot IT software and hardware
- A flexible approach to work
- Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification (desirable)
