Candidate Background:
- Master’s degree from a business school, Grandes Ecoles, or Sciences Po (or relevant experience)
- Minimum 5 years in project management with proven cultural events and programming experience
- Experience working in a consulting firm and/or in the culture & tourism industries, or equivalent
- Open-minded and able to work in an international and multicultural environment
- Agile and flexible working (business travel possible)
- Strong sense of team spirit, professionalism, discretion, and diplomacy
- Analytical project and event planning skills with strong attention to detail
- Fluent in English and French (oral & written), knowledge of Arabic is appreciated
- Skilled writing skills, including the ability to synthesize information, develop creative ideas, and convey coherent solutions
- Ability to draft budgets, detailed action plans, SOPs, event outcome frameworks, SWOT analyses, evaluation templates, risk assessments, and project timelines
- Produce presentations for clients on a weekly basis that accurately represents the project’s progress towards key deadlines and deliverables
- Capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of Intangible Cultural Heritage safeguarding measures is appreciated and considered a plus
- Excellent proficiency with the MS Office Suite
Job Description:
As a member of the Programming and Events division, you will work on developing events and programming strategies for heritage sites, museums, galleries, tourism sites, and private or public clients. Your role may carry out and advise on the following tasks:
- Develop and lead the creation of ambitious, forward-thinking events and programming strategies (online / hybrid / digital) for clients, identifying opportunities for thoughtful content creation, revenue generation, and international recognition
- Draft and build detailed event toolkits, action plans, governance and operational models, outcome frameworks, policies and procedures related to events, risk assessments, KPIs & evaluation tools, etc.
- Perform benchmarking and best practice exercises and market studies including but not limited to public policies as well as event forecasting and trends
- Maintain awareness of current trends and innovations within the events, heritage, and cultural programming sectors
- Develop and grow Avesta’s portfolio of events and programming opportunities, supporting with project proposals, planning, and delivery
General
As a Manager, you will manage one or multiple international projects and clients in addition to providing organisational support on company business in the following areas:
- Cultivate and maintain effective working relationships at all levels with internal staff and external stakeholders
- Support client relations management
- Oversee and manage the work of select project team members
- Lead and guide the skills development of junior team members
- Ensure quality assurance at every step of a project’s evolution, identifying and communicating key risks and issues as they arise and opportunities for information-sharing across teams
- Support on the development of projects across different divisions where appropriate
The candidate may also collaborate with the Business Development division for the development of commercial proposals and tenders.
