It is a brilliant opportunity to work with many different businesses in the city centre of Bath and to work on a varied range of projects, all of which will give you the opportunity to shine. As a small team, we work closely together and rely on everyone playing their part. This is a great opportunity for someone with proven marketing experience as well as the desire to develop and extend their knowledge and expertise.

Key responsibilities
Social Media and Content Creation
You will be a social media star, demonstrating a natural talent for creating beautifully made content that engages and grows our audiences. From copywriting to photography, video production, and collaborating with bloggers, your creative skills will shine as you plan and execute compelling social media campaigns which promote the organisation and our client businesses.
Website and print Copy (welcometobath.co.uk and bathbid.co.uk)
Optimising SEO content across all our activity and maintaining up-to-date event listings, regular blogs and project content on both of our websites will be a crucial aspect of your role. You will create engaging and relevant copy which resonates with our target audience, and have the technical awareness to ensure an exceptional user experience. You will be responsible for the editorial, design and production management of the Indie Bath magazine.
Event coordination
We run four major events every year – ReBalance Bath, wellbeing festival, Bath BUsiness COnference, Summer Sundays and Bath at Christmas. You will be responsible for sales and marketing, sponsorship management and promotion of these events, alongside freelance project managers.
Digital Advertising
You will excel in creating and managing paid digital advertising campaigns across search, social media, and display platforms. Your expertise in leveraging tools like Google Analytics will allow you to produce reports on website performance, identify trends, and propose actionable strategies.
Email Marketing
You will create and deliver internal (comms) and customer facing (marketing) email campaigns to segmented audiences, ensuring our clients and our customers receive relevant and engaging content.
PR Opportunities
You will be confident to create copy for PR purposes from magazine articles to short guest blogs. You will be monitoring and suggesting new PR opportunities across print and digital platforms will be a key part of your role. By staying ahead of the curve, you will help elevate our the BID’s presence and reach and promote our 670 levy payers.
Stakeholder management
At the heart of our operations, are the businesses who make up the membership of the Bath BID. You will need to be confident to get out and about and get to know them, find out about their businesses and make sure that we are delivering the services which work for them.
Other skills which would be helpful
Data visualisation
We gather consumer insights from O2 and Visa which you will turn into engaging and accessible visual content. You will need to be confident with numbers and graphs.
Design
You will create on-brand advertising materials for display (posters) or in-event signage (banners) etc and oversee print production. In particular, you will be responsible for the design and production of the Indie Bath magazine (next edition due in December). We have a range of branded projects which need carefully designed materials – Bath Safe Bus, Safe and Secure Bath, ReBalance Bath, Bath Business Conference, Indie Bath, Welcome to Bath and Bath BID.
About You:
To excel in this role, you should be a creative, innovative, and proactive individual and as a team player, you will enjoy managing multiple projects, possess exceptional organisational skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivation, a desire to learn and develop your marketing skills, and a results-driven attitude are essential.
Key Attributes:
- At least 2 years experience in a marketing and events role
- A focussed approach to project management and multiple deadlines

- Excellent command of English, spelling, and grammar
- Experience of using Adobe
- Proven experience writing copy and press releases
- Ability to thrive under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and deliver high-quality work
- Knowledge of Bath city centre

- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Desirable Skills:
- Experience using Wordpress, Hootsuite and Mailchimp
