The successful applicant will work alongside the directors of the business to assist in the day-to-day delivery of events organised by the company, these events include South Glos Show & South Glos Food Festival.
The position is suitable for someone looking for a career in the events industry with attention to detail and a quick learner. The ideal candidate will be confident communicating ideas and working both independently and as part of a team.
The event assistant role covers a broad range of job roles, these include marketing, admin and communicating with traders, the chosen candidate will be working in a small team so no job should be considered too big or too small to undertake.
They will need to be knowledgeable in how to use social media to engage with customers and generate sales.
We are seeking an ambitious, hard-working individual to work alongside our team. The ideal candidate for this role is a time management expert and a self-starter who can adapt quickly to changing environments and demands. The candidate should be able to work well alone, but will also be part of a team, so it's important to also demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be expected to follow detailed instructions and show initiative when required.
This role is a contract post with an initial 1 month trial period. This trial period may be extended by a further 2 months. After which the successful applicant will receive a permanent job offer subject to satisfactory performance.
Roles and responsibilities
- Assist in the day-to-day administration
- Assist across all aspects of event planning
- Work throughout events organised by the company
- Reply to all customer service enquiries
- Create posts on social media sites promoting the company's events
- Confident in using social media channels to engage customers and assistant in the management of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tiktok
- Help manage and generate content to help grow Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tiktok, Youtube
- Manage the social media inboxes and respond in a timely manner to customers to develop relationships between brands and customers
- Monitor social media channels and analyse the best performing posts - why did these posts perform well?
- Work alongside the directors in the delivery of the event
- Communicate with traders and ensure all details submitted are accurate
- Produce spreadsheets listing suppliers/traders details and requirements
- Make updates to the website using wordpress
- Create e-mailers to customers and traders using mailchimp
- Research new traders and sponsors for the events
- Assist in the delivery of all events
- Set up, clean up and pack down of events
- Ensure the company collects payments from traders on time

- Attention to detail, it is important that all trader requirements are recorded accurately
- Organisation & time management: methodical approach to project management; anticipate problems, excellent ability to prioritise and stay on top of tasks
- Communication - strong written and verbal
- Entrepreneurial and ROI-focused mindset
- Copywriting - excellent grammatical and spelling skills
- Creativity - strong ability to create original content
- Initiative: observe what is happening, be proactive, ask questions at the appropriate time and flag problems to the directors in good time
- Competent on Excel
Preferable
- Adobe Photoshop

- Experience in Mailchimp, Wordpress,
- Previous experience working at events
- From an agricultural background
- Driving licence & vehicle
Work will be carried out Monday - Friday and on weekends when events take place, there are currently three events planned for this year.
Work will be based at our office in the Bristol City Centre and at Bristol & Bath Science Park, some remote working may also be available once the chosen candidate has settled in.
