  • Rate: £450 per week (PAYE)

We are looking for an events and marketing specialist to start immediately on a short-term basis to support the design and delivery of our annual flagship employability event, The Social Mobility Factory.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the event and supporting the wider team with a variety of tasks related to the event. The ideal candidate for this role will be an all-rounder who can take on events, marketing, finance and project management responsibilities.

About the event:

The 93% Club is a leading social mobility charity that supports students from state schools with the transition from school to university, and from university to the working world. Through our events and programmes, we reach thousands of students every year across the UK and give them the tools, resources and connections they need to access top careers and land their dream job.

Our flagship event is The Social Mobility Factory - a unique new careers concept where we put hundreds of young people on our ‘conveyor belt’ of career-boosting activities across one action-packed day. After ten hours of employer workshops, mock interviews, CV reviews, headshot photography, career advice and networking, our students have everything they need to hit the graduate job market with a bang.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Produce event from start to finish according to requirements
  • Proactively suggest ways to enhance the success of the event
  • Plan and coordinate the schedule for the day
  • Source and negotiate with vendors and suppliers
  • Manage and supervise contractors and volunteers
  • Lead promotional activities for the event
  • Coordinate all travel and transport arrangements
  • Raise invoices for clients sponsoring the event
  • Quickly resolve any problems that might occur
  • Analyse the success of the event and prepare reports
  • Prepare budgets and ensure adherence
  • Other ad-hoc activities to assist with event delivery

Who we’re looking for:

An organised and efficient event coordinator who likely has some experience in the design and delivery of large in-person events, as well as the following:

  • A demonstrated knowledge of event planning and management
  • Strong creative thinker who can create new marketing strategies
  • Outstanding project and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to build strong working relationships at all levels
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, act quickly to solve problems, work to deadlines and ensure quality is never compromised
  • Ability to use Google Mail, Docs and Sheets to manage all event documentation
  • Ideally prior experience of using Eventbrite to manage the booking process

Working arrangements:

This role is hybrid with flexibility required to make site visits to the venue and to supplier locations in advance of the event and on the event day. You will also be in the office for our team day on Wednesdays each week for meetings with other team members.

The successful candidate will be located in a commutable distance to London as the event venue is located near Monument station and the charity office is on Bishopsgate.

This is a temporary assignment for a fixed duration of 8 weeks and at a fixed rate of £450 per week. An immediate start is crucial for this assignment. We will consider applications for part-time working or job share arrangements.
