Job description
As the Content Manager for One Young World, your primary function is to support the Content Lead in transforming the Summit from an 'agenda on paper' into a world-class conference! You will play a hands-on role in realising the vision of the Summit team, ensuring the delivery of the core logistical requirements for both the Summit's main and side stages.
In this role you will:
- Assist the Content Lead in managing the work of the Junior content Fellows
- Assist with defining central Summit themes through surveys and focus groups with the Ambassador network
- Be responsible for all written content in terms of questions, sessions, scripts and speeches for the whole Summit.
- Collaborate internally to ensure the content objectives for the Summit are achieved
- Partner with the VIP Manager and the Community team to ensure VIP’s are placed correctly in the agenda
- Work alongside the Content Lead to implement the Summit objectives
- Assist the VIP Manager to expand and refresh the list of Guest Speakers
- Jointly deliver the pre-recorded content for the virtual platform with the Digital Summit Lead and Content Lead
- Work closely with Marketing and Digital Communications team to ensure event activity is woven into the overall five-year strategy and is an integrated part of annual planning
- Produce Summit related material, such as the Summit Report, Partnership brochures, website copy, agenda documents, sessions descriptions and proposals
- Work with the Production and Event Logistics Teams to ensure smooth delivery of the Summit
- Work with the Production team to create run of shows and liaise on production requirements
- Work with the Global Advisory Board on organising their onsite annual meeting
- Develop and deliver content on other One Young World programmes beside the Summit, as agreed with the Summit Director / Manager Director. Examples of these could include One Young World Academy and COP 28.
Are you an experienced content manager with proven experience in the events space? Do you have strong external relationships and the ability to quickly build on these with senior internal and external collaborators? Do you also have:
- Experience leading teams with diverse skills and abilities
- An active interest in current affairs and good knowledge of international issues is crucial
- Experience in writing speeches, copy and proofreading is key
- Excellent communication skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports & peers
- Experience in building, and mentoring a team
- A solid understanding of the sector
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively & drive innovation
- Demonstrated experience of fostering a winning culture and delivering and going above and beyond
- An energetic, tenacious, results-orientated approach
- Demonstrated good judgement in resource utilisation
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
- Clear thinking, strong ability to collaborate with others, and highly effective working practices to build relationships and joint success
- Experience in Monday.com and Salesforce are beneficial
- Experience in Adobe and basic website maintenance is useful
- Must be fluent in English. Fluency in an additional language is desirable but not required.
Essential details
Our standard working hours are 9am – 5.30pm.
We operate a 4 day working week policy, which we call Flexible Fridays. We encourage you to be super efficient with your time Monday-Thursday, so you don't need to work (unless something super urgent comes up) on a Friday. We operate this policy all year round, apart from in the three months leading up to the Summit.
