Join our team to contribute to IBM's Event Automation initiatives, participating in the advancement of the open source projects of Apache Flink and Apache Kafka, and enhancing open source specifications including AsyncAPI.
Your Role and Responsibilities
- Your primary objective will be to establish IBM's credibility and eminence in the Apache Flink community, with the goal to become a maintainer and part of the PMC
- You will self directing, balancing the business strategic requirements with that of the Apache Flink community, using your experience and knowledge of Open Source projects to influence the direction of the community
- You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers and developers to share your understanding in the application of open source technologies to shape the IBM Event Automation roadmap
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- You have demonstrable experience as a developer in Open Source development and participation in core communities such as the Apache and Linux Foundations
- You are conversant in Event Driven Architectures and able to participate in architectural discussions, both with Open Source communities and clients
- You have experience in using Apache Flink to perform stateful computations over data streams
- You are a technical leader with a proven ability to influence people and organisations, including executive management and technical leaders when issues are complex or difficult and require considerable diplomacy
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- You have developed Kafka applications and are familiar with the use of the Apache Kafka streaming platforms for high performance data pipelines, streaming analytics and data integration
- You have experience of Cloud and Container Orchestration. You lead others in developing containerised applications and orchestrating them as a solution
- You are conversant in working with data at scale, developing solutions that work with structured and unstructured data
