Job summary
Park View Group Practice is a large and innovative Practice.
We have 7 GP Partners, supported by a large nursing team, pharmacy team, and non-clinical team to provide the best care possible for our 9600 patients.
We are also a member of Tame Valley Primary Care Network, and the Practice is supported by care co-ordinators and health coaches.
40 working hours:
- Monday 14:00 - 19:00
- Tuesday 14:00 - 19:00
- Wednesday 13:00 - 20:00
- Thursday 14:00 - 19:00
- Friday 14:00 - 19:00
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, processing of information, and assisting patients as required. To act as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages, and enquiries for the clinical team liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
The post holder will also be responsible for undertaking a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties and the provision of administrative support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include but are not limited to, the processing of information (electronic and hard copy) in a timely manner, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers and in accordance with current policies, including the use of the electronic referral service (ERS).

Park View Group Practice is based in Reddish, Stockport and our Practice boundary covers Stockport, Denton, and Tameside.
We believe that every staff member should be supported in their career pathways. We currently have seven staff members undertaking apprenticeships or are due to commence apprenticeships. We also train F2 and ST1 doctors.

Job description
The following are the core responsibilities of the receptionist. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
a. Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system
b. Process personal, telephone, and e-requests for appointments
c. Answer incoming phone calls, transfer calls or deal with the caller's request appropriately
d. Signpost patients to the correct service
e. Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members, and external agencies
f. Read code data on EMIS Web
g. Photocopy documentation as required
h. Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
i. Input data into the patient’s healthcare records as necessary
j. Direct requests for information i.e. SAR, insurance/solicitors letters, and DVLA forms to the administrative team
k. Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
l. Carry out system searches as requested
m. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
n. Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards
o. Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
p. Process referrals to external agencies such as secondary care

Job Type: Part-time
