Role Purpose
The role will be responsible for preparing, reviewing and submitting approx. 10-15 VAT including EC Sales/Intrastat returns across Europe for several European NEC entities. The VAT compliance activities and managing VAT compliance tracker across Europe region is a vital function in the Shared Service Centre in the UK. In this role we are looking for a team player, a self-starter and someone who has a meticulous approach towards compliance work.

VAT
- Preparing and submitting approx. 10-15 VAT including EC Sales/Intrastat returns across Europe
- Responsible for carrying out monthly/quarterly and annual VAT reconciliation for GL codes across Europe.
- Monitor and advise relevant CA’s regarding European VAT legislation
- Responsible for correct SAP master data management from a VAT perspective
- Maintain internal relations with and support ad hoc VAT queries from departments like Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement and Legal
- Supporting and responsible for relations with third parties including Tax Authorities in cooperation with local tax advisors and finance departments
- Knowledge of VAT Triangulation and Reverse charges rules
- Understanding Incoterms (International Commercial Terms) and impact of selecting incorrect incoterms on Indirect tax obligations.
- Responsible for general accounting (R2R) processes in various NEC entities
- Support KPMG audits in various NEC entities
- Support in tax and statutory accounts processes – i.e., VAT reconciliation, other tax compliance and support statutory accounts finalization where and when required
- Support Tax and VAT audits
- implement change to processes and controls within the supply chain and procurement management
- Take an ownership for the system design and improvements of the product and service flows from a tax perspective and work together with other stakeholders in finance, procurement, supply chain, logistics and IT
- Implement and sustain tax data quality standards in financial systems to enhance Indirect tax processes, operations, and effectiveness
- Implement processes and procedures to reduce risk for supply chain, logistics and VAT, understanding and awareness of the cross over between these three departments
- Have 4-5 years of experience of working with supply chain/logistics, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payments, tax, and IT (SAP) team.
- Have good knowledge of SAP system.
- have a VAT, Intrastat, European sales, and logistics background in previous in-house role
- Have extensive experience in multi vat registered and international business with complex supply chain structures with multiple parties
- Reporting to EMEA tax manager
- Responsibility for VAT and accounting processes, entities and/or regions – this may change over time
- Support additional project related work with managers and senior managers.
- Has good practical knowledge of business requirements and challenges to adapt to the changing (technology) landscape and data driven VAT compliance and reporting.
- Is a team player, a self-starter and has a meticulous approach towards compliance work
