Position Summary
Working in the Distribution Centre your primary role will be based on the ground floor working in the department of Despatch and Events and you will be reporting to the Team Lead on shift for the relevant area. Labelling and loading lorries working to various customer compliance for outbound shipments. The despatch team covers shipping of customer orders, to customer compliance as well as making sure the correct items are accounted for and all shipments are completed. The role is varied, and you will be required to work on your own and part of a team to complete all necessary tasks and making sure that the team hit internal department targets as well as supporting the DC in achieving overall targets each week, month and across the financial year. Previous Despatch and MHE experience desirable. Shift 14:00-22:00 Monday – Friday. 37.5 hours.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Working in a safe manner and putting safety at the front of everything you do to ensure your safety as well as your colleagues
- Safe movement and storage of goods, using hand pallet trucks or Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE).
- Good communication to all levels, ensuring any issues are communicated and escalated when required to your management team
- Training on reports and other areas on the department to offer a better flexibility within the department
- Utilising IT equipment to complete your tasks e.g. RF Terminals, PC’s
- Using Shipping labels for outbound shipments.
- Working to deadlines for inbound and outbound shipments to maintain KPI’s / SLAs
- Making sure outbound shipments are correctly completed and shipped out on time as well as assisting with aspects for shipping compliance.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Goods in Experience in an FMCG environment
- Excellent IT skills, with good knowledge of Word, Excel, Teams and Powerpoint
- Previous experience with SAP, SAP reporting desirable, but not essential
- Good English language skills
- Good Communication skills, to be able to communicate to all levels
- Be able to prioritise workload, and still be flexible to cover new priorities
- MHE training on Counterbalance, Reach Truck, Pallet Movers or Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) trucks preferable, but not essential as full training will be given
- Physically fit and healthy to undertake the tasks as this is a very manual role
- Hard Working and conscientious to be able to work to targets
- Proven track record of exceeding targets
- Self-motivating and able to drive yourself and the team forward
- IATA training or worked in a shipping / outbound goods environment for knowledge of shipping labels
- Having worked to customer compliance
