Hours: 12-hour night shifts – 4 on 4 off (52 weeks per year)

The Estates Department
The Estates team as a whole is responsible for maintaining the high standards of
maintenance, safety, and construction throughout the Estate.
Job Purpose
The main purpose of this role is to carry out security checks throughout the Estate ensuring that the expected high standards are met and maintained. The Estates Security Officer will ensure that the safety of the Collegiate site is their main priority in their time here with the organisation. The job description is written at a specific time and is subject to change as the demands of the organisation and the role develop. The role requires flexibility and adaptability and employees of the organisation need to be aware that they may be asked to perform tasks and be given responsibilities not detailed in this job description.
Responsibilities
- Mobile patrols (4x4 Vehicle) of more than 220 acres of North Yorkshire countryside
- Foot patrols of the school and Estate areas not accessible by vehicle
- Responsible for the locking up of estates and school buildings.
- Monitoring the operation of gates and entrances to site
- Overseeing the movements of visitors, staff and students on site
- Monitoring staff entering and exiting the site
- Attending fire alarms for the estate and school buildings.
- Respond to all emergencies as and when required.
- Liaise with emergency services when required.
- Completion of all relevant forms and other documents
- To operate and monitor CCTV across the site.
- To be responsible for the obligations placed on an employee under the Health and Safety Work Act 1974 with respect to building operatives.
- Undertake any training when requested and as and when required
- Respond to all instructions efficiently and safely.
