We have reached an exciting stage in our journey where we wish to appoint an Estates Manager for our brand new facility based in Birmingham, The Harborne Hospital.
This is a unique opportunity for a passionate Estates Manager to form an integral part of the leadership team at our brand-new state of the art hospital in Birmingham (in collaboration with the Queen Elizabeth Hospital NHS Trust). You will play a vital role in leading a new team to provide a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for all patients, while managing a maintenance system of building, plant and equipment to facilitate the uninterrupted business of the hospital.
Ongoing areas of involvement include, but not limited to:
- Build a team of highly skilled engineers to cover the requirements of the hospital, ensuring 24 hour cover and facilitating excellent teamwork.
- Develop the philosophy and strategy of the Estates Department
- To ensure a fast and effective response to unplanned and emergency maintenance requests
- To work within statutory and hospital policies and practices, ensuring safety
- Involvement in planning, implementation and management of smaller projects in co-ordination with the Operations Manager and Corporate Estates
- Contribute to strategic planning of replacement/repair programmes throughout the HCA UK Hospital network.
Key Skills & Experience
- Prior experience within a similar organisation is essential
- Training in relevant discipline e.g. City & Guilds plumbing / NVQ
- Experience of managing and leading a team, including budget responsibility
- Experience within Health and Safety guidelines and identifying and managing risk
