The Role
We are looking for people to join us who are excited by being at the cutting edge of ESG transformational change in banking and capital markets.
As a senior manager you will be delivering complex ESG related client engagements, leading key workstream(s) within larger client engagements or owning the full project delivery for smaller engagements.
You will lead juniors and clients to solve strategic problems, develop strong client relationships and progress the personal development of others. You will engage in hypothesis-led problem-solving, development of project approaches, shaping of qualitative and quantitative analysis, client engagement and leadership of the team.
Outside of engagements, you will build networks; generate thought leadership, new propositions and initiatives based on your personal interests and insights; and drive your own personal development and that of your colleagues to deliver more value to our clients.
Responsibilities
The main responsibilities within the role will include:
Understanding the ESG related risks, challenge and opportunities that our clients face and help with designing and delivering innovative solutions
Delivering exceptional outputs to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients, aligned to our own quality criteria, by:
managing projects, including structuring the approach, team and timeline and driving each assignment to a successful conclusion, reporting to the Partner / Director
developing the hypotheses and insights to unlock challenging client problems
directing analysis, assessing the depth required on each assignment, translating the analysis into useful findings and quality assuring the results in conjunction with project leadership
planning and managing the delivery of quality work
defining the source and level of data gathering required to solve problems
developing clear, persuasive and concise documents, including ones for Executive audiences
dealing effectively with ambiguous and unstructured problems and situations
Leading client relationships and building trust and credibility with our clients through our ongoing engagements
Identifying new or extended opportunities within our clients to support them in achieving their goals and objectives
Supporting the growth of our business through thought leadership, the development of go-to-market strategies and assisting with the sales process through client proposals and pitches
Building and maintaining a strong internal network across PwC and continuing to develop your external PwC brand
Training, coaching and supervising team members
Upholding the PwC’s code of ethics and business conduct
Skills and Experience
Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate that they can manage multiple tasks on projects and deliver the highest quality outputs. They should be of an intellectually curious mindset and interested in continually developing their professional and technical skills.
Essential
Track record delivering regulatory change or transformation programmes
Understanding of the ESG regulatory landscape in UK and Europe, knowledge of key ESG regulations such as:
SS3/19
CSRD
ISSB
Understanding of the risks and challenges firms are facing with regards to ESG and how organisations need transform to meet net zero commitments
Experience in project-based, team-oriented environments (6+ years)
Track record of leading and managing teams and delivering against tight deadlines in fast paced and demanding environments
Understanding of technology challenges that Banking and capital markets firms are facing in responding to ESG risks and challenges
Understanding of the banking and capital markets industry landscape in the UK and across Europe
Adaptability and resilience to work on multiple workstreams and upskill in areas where required
Desirable
Relevant consulting / advisory experience in banking and capital markets
Experience of taking a lead role in change or transformation programmes within the Risk function of large FS firms
